Come spend some fun quality family time getting a taste of the mountains and the activities.

We at Kahdalea and Chosatonga believe in the wonderful resource of family. We offer Family Camp to provide a time and a place for families to be together, to relax, to play, and to enjoy each other in a beautiful natural mountain setting. In doing this we hope to nurture a closeness within families and to provide a fabulous experience for all.

Our regular camp program includes child-centered and wilderness oriented activities. Our goal is to offer a wide range of activities to stimulate, delight and challenge each child; and to provide an opportunity for young people to develop lifetime skills and interests in a Christian environment. Our Family Camp program is a simple extension of this.

LOCATION
Family Camp takes place at Kahdalea in the heart of the Blue Ridge Mountains of Western North Carolina. Our 180 acres are bordered on three sides by the Pisgah National Forest, which provides unlimited acres of beautiful mountain woodlands. Kahdalea has its own lake, clear bubbling streams, and hiking trails. At an elevation of 2800 feet, the summer climate is lovely!

TRANSPORTATION
The camp assumes no responsibility for making travel arrangements to or from camp. Most family campers arrive by car. If you are flying, make arrangements to land at the Asheville, NC airport. Complete information regarding travel and baggage will be sent prior to the opening day of camp.

ENROLLMENT
We encourage you to register early. Contact your representative or the camp office for applications. We enroll around fifty persons at Family Camp.

PROGRAM
Activities offered include tennis, horseback riding, swimming, canoeing, nature, drama, arts and crafts, riflery, rock climbing, archery, backpacking, overnight camping, team sports, relaxation time, white water rafting, and more.

TODDLER CARE
Because of parental involvement during Family Camp, our staff for this session is minimal. Because of this, we do not offer baby sitting on a regular basis. We do provide baby sitting for the white water trip and will help to arrange baby sitting should a special need arrive.

MEDICAL INFORMATION
Our infirmary is available for your needs at anytime during Family Camp. In addition, we have an on-call physician nearby and the modern Transylvania Community Hospital is a short drive from camp.

CAMP STORE
The camp store will be open at Family camp!  Stationary, toilet articles, basic camping gear, batteries, film, and camp shirts are available at the Camp Store. Some craft supplies (i.e., tie-dye T-shirts) will also be charged to the store account.

WHAT TO BRING
A suggested list of what to bring is sent to Family Camp applicants before camp begins along with pertinent maps and other information. If at anytime you have any questions, please don't hesitate to call or write.

EVERYTHING, including equipment, should be plainly marked with names.
